Dorothy Elaine Raines, 55, of Pence Springs entered into eternal rest, 11:30 P.M. Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her home following a long illness.
Born June 23, 1958 at Hinton she was a daughter of the late Roy Edward and Emma Savannah Jones Lucas.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Summers County. She attended Pence Springs Community Church while her health permitted. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, bird watching and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raines; two sisters, Edith Lowry and Mary Higgenbotham; two brothers, one infant brother and Monty Lucas.
Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Steve Lucas and wife Betty of Princeton, Crystal Kirk and husband Chadwick of Frankford and Jesse Raines and fiancé Shyann Cales of Pence Springs; four grandchildren, Kara, Chadwick Jr., Emily and Ava; a special unborn grandchild; three step grandchildren, Steven and Ryan Belcher and Lillian Grace Cales; one brother, Roy Edward Lucas Jr. and wife Roberta of NC and one sister, Emma Jean Church and husband Herbie of London, KY.
A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Roger Persinger and Cary J. Kirk officiating. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 5:00 ? 7:00 P.M. Wednesday. Following Dorothy?s wishes she will be cremated following the services.
