Earl David "Brud" Gravely, 74 , of Meadow Creek passed away October 17, 2011 at his home following a short illness.
Born December 1, 1936 at Mabscott, he was a son of the late John Lee and Thelma Edith Rouse Gravely.
Brud was a retired mechanic for H&N Ford in Hinton and Loving Motors in Virginia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers and spending time with his beloved pets Jake and Shorty.
He was preceded in death by his Step-father, David B. Adkins and two brothers, James L. Gravely and Clyde B. Adkins.
He is survived by four sisters, Goldie M. Gore of Hinton, Linda L. Berry and husband Gene of Rainelle, Rebecca Adkins of Elton and Tammy Smith and husband Ronald of Meadow Creek; special niece, Kathy Hedrick Sutphin and husband Marty of Floyd, VA; special cousin, Callie Rouse Hedrick of Ironto, VA; special friend, Tom Scott and family of Meadow Creek and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Harry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery at Elk Knob. Friends may call from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
