Edgar Rose

â??E. R.â?? Edgar Russell Rose, 83, of White Oak, lifted his arms and embraces his Lord at 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 17th 2006 at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born March 31, 1922 in Hinton, WV, he was the son of the late R. C. Rose of High Point, NC and the late Myrtle Farley Stoddard of Hinton. â??E.R.â?? grew up in the Hinton area and lived his adult life in White Oak. As he was known to all, â??Mr. Roseâ?? was a member of the Church of Christ, a devout Christian, a successful self-employed businessman and a proud husband and father. Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard Gill, his sister, Imogene Slovan, an infant son Eddie Russell Rose Jr. and two grandsons, Greg and Billy Rose. He will be missed by his immediate family, his church families and his many friends. The immediate family is made up of his wife of 64 years, Gaye Pauline Brinegar Rose; four sons, Tom (Karetta) of Beaver, Claude, John (Melinda), and James Rose all of Shady Spring; three daughters, A. Jo (Ron) Kess of Vienna, WV, Loretta (William) Fairchild of San Antonio, TX and Diana (Richard) Powell of Stockport, OH. Mr. Rose was blessed with fourteen living grandchildren; Claude Jr., Timothy and John Jr. Rose, Shasta (Rose) Holley, Daphne (Rose) Wiseman, Erica (Rose) Meadows, Terri (Kress) Jenkins, Kathy (Kress) McGrew, Wendy (Powell) Gorrell, Bryan Powell, Shannon Powell, Bill Fairchild, Tina Fairchild and Becky (Fairchild) Holt. The next generation resulted in sixteen great grandchildren; Greg, Brenda, E.R., Ashley & John-Ray Rose; Colton and Braylie Wiseman, Kyla Meadows, Tyler McGrew, Taylor, Paige and Craig Gorrell, Bill III and Anna Fairchild and Noah and Jonah Holt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Fred Dinkler officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery on Shockley Hill. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton from 6-9 P.M. Sunday. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
