Edith Caldwell

Edith Butler Caldwell, 95, of Alderson, passed away February 19, 2015.
Born August 9, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Bessie Cody Butler.
Edith spent many years working as a maid for the Greenbrier. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, taking car rides through the countryside, and, above all, spending time with her family. Edith was of the Methodist faith.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Caldwell; children, Janice Sue Caldwell, James Melvin Caldwell and Sidney Curtis Caldwell; brother, Bill Butler; and sisters, Annie Willey and Rosa Doyle.
Edith is survived by her children, Ronnie Caldwell of Alderson, Jerry Caldwell and wife Meredith Caldwell of Athens, TN; Charles Caldwell and wife Jennifer Caldwell of Quinton, VA; Frances Parker of Columbia, SC; Judith Hare of Russellville, AR; brother, Freddy Butler of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Angela Caldwell of Covington, VA; and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Linda Payton officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services.
