Edward A. ?Tarney? Boone, 92, of Hilldale entered into eternal rest and reunited with his loving family, Friday, July 22, 2011 following a long illness.
Born October 19, 1918 at Ronceverte he was the son of the late Charles Lewis Boone and Elizabeth Jackson Boone Morgan. A Veteran of the United States Army he proudly served his country during World War II. Ed was a shipping clerk for Sears Roebuck and Co. and after retirement continued to work outdoor maintenance at Pipestem State Park. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed horses and golfing.
Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Herman Morgan, Thelma Howard, Rev. Ed Morgan, Charlotte Reed, Annabelle Johnson, Wallace Morgan, Ralph Boone, Alfred Boone, Iva Hall and Mary Alice Boone.
Survived by three brothers, Roy L. Boone of Hilldale, Rev. Sterling Morgan and wife Sue of Lewisburg and Victor G. Morgan and wife Martha of Hinton; one sister, Barbara Morgan Scott and husband Bob of Wilmington, Delaware; one sister-in-law, Theresa Boone of Georgetown, Delaware and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, Hilldale with Rev. Gary Baker, Rev. Sterling Morgan and Rev. Glen Pysell officiating. Burial will follow in the Adwell Cemetery at Ronceverte. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Monday at the church.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank his niece, Barbara Sue Morgan for her loving care given, Jeannie Thompson, Dr. Stanley T. Day and his staff for their kindness and care along with the staff of Kanawha Hospice Care.
