Edward Milton Cales (Brud), 90, of Bel Air, MD passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. The angels gently lifted his soul and took him to be with the Lord.
Born February 28, 1929 at Hinton he was a son of the late Walter Manley and Rachael Mae Robinson Cales.
Ed left Hinton when he was young to find work. He went to work for Harry T. Campbell & Sons in White Marsh, MD as a heavy equipment operator. He was well respected by the owners and his peers as a hard worker. During his career there, he pulled dynamite, cleaned up a number of train derailments, pushed snow for days on end as well as building roads and working in their many quarries.
After he retired, he came back home to Hilldale to live. His passion was "tinkering" with old cars and trucks that he loved to collect and drive. When he wasn't in the garage, you could find him working in his yard. He loved to have everything looking good. Mums were his favorite, Magic Mart couldn't keep enough in stock.
Ed enjoyed sitting on his front porch watching the cars and trucks whiz by as well as hummingbirds that came each day to eat at his feeder. He enjoyed afternoons out back on his patio watching his mums grow (they were beautiful) and the birds and chickens pecking in the grass. Most of all, Ed enjoyed when his family and friends stopped by and had time to sit awhile and talk; that meant the world to him. So, thank you, family and friends, always know, he loves you. The Lord blessed Ed with ninety and a half years to enjoy his life and family.
Those left to cherish Ed's memory include his loving son, Edward T. Wolf of Bel Air, MD; adoring granddaughter, Christine M. Wolf of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Joyce Purcell and family; two brothers, James Cales and Robert Cales and his wife Lorene of Forest Hill; loving sister, Shirley Cales of Hilldale and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Pastor Roger Persinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Cales Cemetery at Clayton. Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral parlors.
