Edward Halloran Sr.

Edward Carroll “Chubby” Halloran Sr., 90, of Talcott passed away peacefully Sunday, December 5, 2021.

Born November 22, 1931, in Barger Springs, WV, he was the son of the late Percy Bruce and Mable C. Dunn Halloran.  Chubby started milking cows when he was 9 years old. In time, he and his wife, Betty, owned and operated the family dairy farm for 55 years.  The house to house delivery service for 30+ years earned him the title “Milkman”.  He was an active member of the Hinton Jaycees and the Talcott-Hilldale Ruritan Club helping out with the John Henry Days Festival for many years. Chubby loved mowing grass and working outside during his retirement years, and he especially enjoyed working with his brother-in-law, Jim Monroe, at the nursery.  He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as custodian for many years.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Boyd Halloran; daughter, Jo Ellen Richmond; two sisters, Alice Monroe and Marion Wallace and two brothers, Percy “Brud” Halloran and Billy Dan Halloran.

Those left to cherish his memory include two sons:  E.C. “Eddie” Halloran, Jr. of Talcott and Tim Halloran (Reva) of Morgantown; Grandchildren:  Susan Belue (Jason), Mandi Lowry  (Loyd), Joseph Richmond, Hope Jones (Brent), Daniel Halloran (Karen), Hannah Golden (Mark), and Cameron Halloran (Franki); Great Grandchildren: Kristen, Alex, Ashley, Mathew, Lucas, Alison, Audra, Andrew, Olivia, Lily, Jack, Adrian and Magnolia.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Talcott, WV with Pastors Sam Groves, Dana Stalnaker and Thelma Garten officiating.  Burial will follow at the Greenbrier Burial Park near Hinton.  Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday, December 10, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton, and one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the church.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
