Edward Carroll Hamm, 89, of Forest Hill passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division following a short illness.
Born March 28, 1929 at Madams Creek he was the son of the late Luther W. and Mattie J. Lilly Hamm. Ed worked for 30 years with United States Steel in Lorain, OH, 25 years for Norfolk and Western Railroad in Lorain, OH and 6 years for C&O Railroad in Hinton, served in the Combat Engineers of the United States Army in Korea during the war. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and spending time with his friends that came to see him.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean Hamm and three brothers, Julian L., Layner, and Robert D. Hamm.
Survived by four sisters, Margaret Crush and husband Bob of Point Pleasant, Glenda Hellems of Hinton, Jewell Hellems of Charlestown, Nina Jean Brannion of MO and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Family and friends may call from 11:00 am until service time on Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Tolliver and Robert Crush.
