Edward Lucas

Edward M. â??Montyâ?? Lucas, 57, of South Point, OH, died at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday August 21, 2007 at Community Hospice at Ashland, KY, following a short illness. Born May 31, 1950 in Montgomery Co. VA he was a son of the late Roy Edward and Emma Savannah Jones Lucas. Edward attended Freedom Baptist Church during the early part of his life and continued to attended local churches after moving to Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Higgenbotham and a brother-in-law Jim Raines. Survivors include three sisters; Edith Lowry and husband Vernon of Wayside, Emma Church and husband Herbert of South Point, Ohio and Dorothy Elaine Raines of Pence Springs; one brother, Roy Lucas Jr. and wife Roberta of Winston Salem, NC; one aunt, Dorothy Walters and husband Nelson of Waynesboro, VA. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 25, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor Chapel with Pastor Ray Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery on Powleyâ??s Creek near Hinton. Friend may call from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor in Hinton. Family and friends will serve as pallbears.
