Edwin Goddard

Edwin Gerald Goddard, 82, of Brooks, died at 2:30 A.M. Sunday, September 28, 2008 at his home, following a long illness. Born March 29, 1926 at Katherine, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Erma McClannahan Goddard. Retired from the CSX Corp. with 43 years of service where he worked as a welder and in track maintenance. Preceded in death by his wife Mildred Fox Goddard and one son, Aubrey Gale Goddard. Survived by one son, Edwin Gerald Goddard Jr. and wife Carolyn of Jumping Branch; one grandson, Edwin Gerald Goddard III of Jumping Branch; three granddaughters, Tabitha Faith Goddard of Jumping Branch, Crystal Dawn Baker and husband Chris of Renick and Melissa Renee Joline Stanley and husband Jason of Clayton; eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Nina Van Milligan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Arnetha Kay Goddard of Red Springs. Funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Wallace Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum at Clintonville. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 2:00 P.M. until funeral time on Wednesday. Edwin Gerald Goddard Jr., Edwin Gerald Goddard III, Gary Wayne Goddard, Rick Hamrick, Jimmy Hamrick and Johnny Breckenridge will serve as pallbearers.
