Edwin "Fast Eddie" Gerald Goddard Jr., 65, of Brooks went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Born June 30, 1953 at Hinton he was a son of the late Edwin Gerald Goddard Sr. and Mildred Marie Fox Goddard.
Eddie was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a truck driver for Basham Brothers of White Oak and Grace Galloway. He was also a heavy equipment operator for Snowflake Rock Quarriers and a US Postal Highway Contractor. Eddie enjoyed building model railroads, playing guitar, spending time with family and friends. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. Eddie was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Aubrey Gail.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife and companion Carolyn Sue Hamrick Goddard at home; children, Tabitha Faith Goddard and companion Joshua S. Comer of Brooks, Edwin Gerald Goddard III of Elkins, Melissa Renee Jolene Stanley and husband Jason of Flat Mountain and Crystal Dawn Scott and husband Joey of White Sulphur Springs; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Minister Rick Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the E.G. Goddard Cemetery at Brooks. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral parlors. Pallbearers will be Edwin Goddard III, Joshua Comer, Gary Goddard, Kevin Weikle, Brady Weikle and Danny Weikle.
