Elizabeth Harris

Elizabeth Marguerite â??Babeâ?? Harris, 79, of Nimitz died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at her home following a sudden illness. Born August 13, 1929 at Jumping Branch she was a daughter of the late Basil W. and Nomi Cole Lilly. She was a member of the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church and past treasurer of the Lilly-Crews Cemetery for many years, homemaker and an avid gardener. A faithful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was united in marriage on December 23, 1947 to her loving husband Jessie J. Harris who preceded her in death April 21, 2003. Others preceding her are her infant daughter Patricia S. Harris; three brothers, Darrell, Billy Dan and Donald Lilly and one sister, Melba M. Vest. Survived by one son, James M. â??Mikeâ?? Harris Sr. of Nimitz, three grandchildren, Jennifer Harris, James M. Harris Jr. and Jessie H. Harris; four great grandchildren, Erin, Derek, Devin and Thaddaeus; one sister, Nadine Lilly of Richmond, VA. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Jennifer Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the John P. Lilly Cemetery at Jumping Branch. Friends may call from 11 A.M. until time of service on Friday. Jessie Harris, Gaylan Cole, Rodney Fix, Howard Vest, Ashby Maddy, Bobby Fox, Steve Lilly and Mike Harris Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
