Ella Catherine Jones Meadows, 93, of Hinton formerly of Forest Hill passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Main Street Care following a long illness.
Born January 12, 1921 in Monroe County she was a daughter of the late Shield Ballard Jones and Rose Ella Brooks Jones.
Catherine was a member of the Pillar of Truth Church at Barger Springs. She was a former cook at the Summers County 4-H Camp, a former employee of Keaton's Laundry and had retired as a housekeeper at Pipestem State Park. Catherine was a caregiver to many members of her family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, William Brady Meadows; one son, Willard Meadows; one grandson, John Wayne Meadows; nine brothers, Opie, Landon, Lindsey "Slim", Frank, Nathan, Woodrow, Murrell, Clarence and one infant brother and four sisters, Blanche, Pearl, Lana and Mary Lena.
She is survived by one son, Dallas Meadows and wife Kayetta of South Carolina; one daughter in law, Brenda Meadows of Hinton; three grandchildren, Edha Sue Brown and husband Jason, Drew Meadows and wife Robin and Jared Meadows; two great grandchildren, Brady Meadows and Andy Brown and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballengee. Friends may call from 6:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral parlors.
Grandsons and family will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
