Eloise Sweeney

February 27, 1921 — October 26, 2012

Eloise Madlyn Jones Sweeney, 91, entered eternal peace on October 26, 2012 at Genesis Nursing Home in White Sulphur Springs; born February 27, 1921 in Talcott, West Virginia.

Eloise was the daughter of the late Lenora Evans and Mack Jones of Talcott, West Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Lester H. Sweeney Sr. and one brother, Arthur Jones.

Eloise was an employee at the Greenbrier Hotel for 46 yrs where she worked as a room service operator while residing in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. She was a loving mother and grandmother of many. She loved to crochet and bake cakes, she was well known for her lemon supreme pound cakes. Eloise was a member of First Baptist Church of White Sulphur Springs, having served on the usher board, and other auxiliaries.

Survived by one daughter, Marilyn Leftwich (Arthur) of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia; two sons, Lester ?Buddy? Sweeney (Charlotte) of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and Thomas ?Tommy? Sweeney (Angela) of Columbus, Ohio; Loving daughter in law, Margaret Sweeney of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

Seven granddaughters, Janya Luster Lee (Tim), Lisa Leftwich Newman (Anthony), Janya ?Rene? Seams (Keith), Sheila Dickson, Tara Sweeney, Marilyn ?Vet? Erskins (Gary), and Sandra Jones; seven grandsons, James ?Nicky? Luster Jr. (Evelyn), Thomas Sweeney Jr. (Candace), Adam Sweeney, Ryan Sweeney, Tim Calhoun, Charles ?CC? Coles, and Twain Wesley; twelve great granddaughters and seven great grandsons; three great great granddaughters and three great great grandsons.

Viewing will take place at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday November 1, 2012 at First Baptist Church of White Sulphur Springs. Homegoing services will follow at 1:00 pm; with Reverend Greg E. Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Talcott Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
