Elvin Lewis "Cookie" Cooper, 75, of True passed away Saturday January 16, 2016 at his home.
Born December 27, 1940 at True he was the son of the late Joffree Elvin and Edna Ruth Short Cooper.
A retired coal preparation plant construction supervisor for Elgin Industries of Chicago IL. Cookie enjoyed attending classic car shows, over the years repairing and restoring his "68" Chrysler 300, and having Sunday dinner with his family.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Kay Palmer Cooper and one son, Gregory Lewis Cooper.
Those left to cherish his memory include four children, Nancy Cooper of Ohio, Elvin Cooper and wife Kim of OH, Beverly Ballengee and husband Bill of Nimitz and Eric Cooper and wife Jessie of OH; eight grandchildren, William Paul Ballengee, Samuel Ballengee and wife Amanda, Tyler Cooper, Kayla Rossel and husband Kyle, Amber Cooper, Benjamin Cooper, Grayson Cooper and Maverick Gregory Cooper; one great granddaughter, Skyler Rossel; one sister, Ann Lester and husband Bill of Shady Spring and one brother, Lee Cooper and wife Nancy of Lerona.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday January 21, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Bill Ballengee officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery at True. Friends may call from noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral parlors.
William Paul Ballengee, Samuel Ballengee, Tyler Cooper, Jeff Lester, Jared Cooper, Bo Syres and Kenny Joe Johnson will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
