Emma Marie Shrader Petrey was carried home September 22, 2014 at Summers Nursing and Rehab Center by God's very best angels. Mama didn't want to make this journey alone. She had suffered so much here on this Earth, but when God said, "my child it's time you come on home" he came with his very best to make this early morning different than all the rest. Now Mama you have nothing to fear because you woke up in heaven and all your loved ones that had gone on gave you a great big cheer. Welcome home, we've been waiting on you and you will be happy here!
Born September 14, 1933 at Pipestem, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Della Susan Shrader.
Emma was a homemaker who enjoyed many things such as quilting, sewing, cooking, clipping recipes, taking pictures of family, picnics, holidays, family reunions, crocheting, and her large collection of vinyl albums. She loved rescuing dogs and cats. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Her laughter was contagious. She had belly laughs that we will all remember.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Raymond Foster and her second husband, Gilbert Petrey; three sons, Ricky Foster, Joey Foster, and Gary Foster; two brothers, John and Leslie Shrader and one sister, Mary Rakes.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Dana Blankenship and husband Savor of Bland, VA, Danny Foster and wife Carolyn of Jumping Branch, Alice Sprouse and husband David of Talcott, Calvin Foster and wife Lynn of Hinton, Cathy Foster of Roanoke,VA, Kenny Ray Meadows and wife Lisa of Hinton, Patty Foster of Richmond, VA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart; sisters, Irene Lilly of Battlecreek, MI, Betty Miller and husband Tommy of Hinton, JoAnn Pack and husband Gary of Pipestem, Nancy Pettrey and husband Dale of Jumping Branch and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
