Emma M. Thompson, 93, of Green Sulphur Springs passed away December 22, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House following a long illness.
Born August 6, 1921 at Meadow Creek she was the daughter of the late Ira and Rebecca Adkins Smith. She retired from the Summers Co. Board of Education where she worked as a cook at Sandstone Elementary School, a homemaker who was a member of the Lick Creek Baptist Church she enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with all of her family.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Jess Willis; second husband, Kenneth Thompson, five sisters and two brothers.
Survived by four children, Dixie Wickline of Point Pleasant, Irene Ware and husband Roger of Ravenna, OH, Kenneth Willis and wife Pat of Newton Falls, OH and Charles Willis and wife Kim of Sharon, PA; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Lick Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace and Wallace Cemetery at Clintonville. Friends may call from 5-7 pm on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
