Everette P. Berkeley, 99, of Alderson went home to be with the Lord, Saturday October 28, 2017 at the Bower's Hospice House following a long illness.
Born April 21, 1918 at Tempa he was a son of the late Pearl Orlando and Lillie May Ballengee Berkeley.
Everette was a member of the Tempa Baptist Church, a United States Army World War II Veteran, member of the VFW and DAV, Sons of the American Revolution as well as an active member of the NRA. He was former timberman, truck driver and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther and Robert H. Berkeley; two sisters, Edith and Annie Berkeley and two infant siblings.
Those left to cherish his memory include one special nephew, Robert O. "Landon" Berkley of Tempa; one special great nephew, Harvey B. Berkley and wife Kelsey of Tempa; two special great great niece and nephew, Leslie and Landon Berkley; a special cousin, Carol Lee Grissett of KY and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Tempa Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
