Faye Reed Crook, 89, of Madam?s Creek, Hinton, died at 6:30 A.M. Monday at the Summers Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital at Hinton, following a short illness. Born March 21, 1916 on Madam?s Creek in Summers Co., she was the daughter of the late Asa Howard and Sarah Amma Meadows Reed. Mrs. Crook was a lifelong resident of Summers Co., she was a former nurse aide at the Old Hinton Hospital and was a member of the Mt. Olivet Church on Madam?s Creek. Preceded in death by her husband, James Paris Crook, two stepsons, Lewis and Miles Crook, three sisters, Mary Reed, Leona Kiddy and Elizabeth Wygal and four brothers, Frank, John, Archie and Ray Reed. Survived by three stepsons, Russell Crook and wife Barbara of Floral City, FL, Brice Crook and wife Thelma of Jumping Branch and Norman Crook and wife Patty of Inverness, FL; one step daughter, Deborah Robinson and husband Jeff of Chesterfield, MI; one brother, Talmadge Reed of Madam?s Creek, Hinton; several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Bill Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens at Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from noon until funeral time on Thursday.
