Frances Maxine Ames, 92, of Elton passed away Sunday November 26, 2017 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born July 31, 1925 at Sandstone she was the daughter of the late Homer Elbert and Myrtle Jane Meadows Bennett. A homemaker she enjoyed and loved the great outdoors.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Ames; one son, George C. Ames and several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Frances Ames Burns and companion Dewayne Thompson of Elton; one son, Leo Ames of Marlinton; one brother, Gerald Bennett of Hopewell, VA; six grandchildren; Sherry (Gary) Gill, Billy (Shannon) Harrah, Stephanie Harrah , David (Missy) Ames , Michael (Stacia) Burns, Crystal Ames Vandall (Jerry Johnson); great grandchildren, Aaron (Christian) Goff, Shay (Kayla) Goff, Colby Harrah, Madison Harrah, Jackie Harrah, Tiffany Harrah Prince, Tasha Harrah, Keith Harrah, Alexandra Harrah, Justin Ames, Rachel Ames, Abby Burns, Leland Vandall and great great grandchildren, Liam Goff, Eligh Goff, Alexis Prince and Hazel Harrah.
Graveside services and burial will be held 2:00 pm Friday December 1, 2017 at the Richmond Cemetery at Sandstone with Pastor Keith Mills officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:30 pm on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Michael Burns, Dewayne Thompson, Billy Harrah, Colby Harrah, Shay Goff and Aaron Goff.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
