Frances H. Morris, 87, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord,
Friday, March 2, 2012 at her home following a long illness.
Born March 14, 1924, at Covington, VA, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Bertha Ann Stone Holcomb.
Frances was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hinton and was active in the Women?s Circle as long as her health permitted. She was a retired registered nurse who worked at Old Hinton Hospital from 1964 until 1970. Frances was an avid bird watcher who enjoyed counter cross-stitching and spending time with friends and family.
Preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Morris; two sisters, Adele Patton and Mary Ann Heth and one brother, Charles Holcomb.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Deborah Ward and the late Wayne Ward of Hinton, Rebecca Richmond and husband Samuel of Hinton and Mary Sue Wallin and husband Johnnie of Chesterfield, VA; six grandchildren, Edie Ann Bennett and husband Randy of Hinton, Richie Ward and wife Cari of Spencer, Jason Richmond of Hinton, Justin Richmond and wife Kristin of Hilldale, Seth Wallin of Chesterfield, VA and Maria Martell and husband Matt of Chesterfield, VA; five great grandchildren, Hannah Rae Cooper of Hinton, William and Trevor Ward of Spencer, Jace Richmond of Hilldale and Ryder Martell of Chesterfield, VA; one sister, Betty Sue Cutler of Richmond, VA; one brother-in-law, Melvin Patton of Stephens City, VA; one sister-in-law, Gladys Bennett of Covington, VA; caregivers, Juanita and Vicky Whitten, Susie Meadows and Brenda Meadows and numerous nieces and nephews that were dear to her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Rev. Dr. Barbara Romfo and Rev. Donna Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Hokes Chapel Cemetery near Covington, VA. Friends may call at the Funeral Parlors from 6-8 PM on Sunday.
Justin and Jason Richmond, Richie Ward, Seth Wallin, Randy Bennett and Matt Martell will serve as pallbearers.
Johnnie Wallin and Samuel Richmond will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
