Frank Lilly

Frank P. "Doc" Lilly, 91, of Jumping Branch went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his home following a short illness.
Born April 4, 1926 at Hinton he was a son of the late Abdal Hamilton and Gertrude Mae Lilly.
Doc was a US Army veteran who served in WWII, a timberman and a bulldozer operator for Odie Meador Lumber Co. He was a member of Jumping Branch Tabernacle. Doc enjoyed home cooked meals, making his famous cornbread, singing, storytelling, hunting, gardening and attending church activities. He loved helping people in need by volunteering his work and time as well as spending time with friends, family and especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Lynn Lilly and three brothers, Palmer, Paul and Alonzo Lilly.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Snook Lilly at home; children, Dale Lilly, Gene Lilly and wife Sherry, Roy Lilly and wife Connie all of Jumping Branch and Denny Lilly and wife Tammy of Cave Ridge; one special niece and caregiver, Kathy Pack of Jumping Branch; grandchildren, Gena Smith and husband Lamont of Jumping Branch, Jamie Lilly and wife Renee of Pipestem, Tabitha Barnes of Jumping Branch, Amy Justice and husband Jason and Joshua Lilly and wife Brittany both of Cave Ridge; twelve great grandchildren, Noah, Kylee Jo and Austyn Barnes, Aleah and Ariel Lilly, T.J. , Imani and Brooklyn Smith, Emily and Jacob Justice and Caleb and Kelly Lilly; three brothers, Aubrey "Cricket" Lilly of Jumping Branch, Don Lilly and wife Brenda of Woodbridge, VA and Luther Lilly of Jumping Branch and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Jumping Branch Tabernacle with Pastors Tom and Dalene Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Saturday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
