Franklin J. Bennett, 76, of Brooks died December 7, 2011 at his home.
Born September 7, 1935 at Brooks, WV, he was a son of the late Bob Bennett and Gussie Susan Cales Joiner.
Franklin was a graduate of Sandstone High School and was a simple man who lived a simple life and enjoyed farming, taking care of his land, animals and spending time with friends and family.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Sally Susan Bennett Jackson and Dorothy Bennett; one uncle, James Pershing Cales; and his grandmother, Cora McClung Cales whom reared him.
Survived by two nieces; Debbie and Robert Pica of Lancaster, CA and Sherri Salefas and husband Craig of Palmdale, CA. ; great-nieces and nephews, Matthew, Elizabeth, Amanda, Patrick, Ray and Samantha Pica, Nicole Danielian and husband Shant and Max Koch; great great nieces, Alexis Pica and Maya Williams.
Memorial services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 5:00 PM until time of services on Thursday. A private burial will be held at a later date.
