Fred Elkins

On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Fred Elkins, 68, of Ballengee, WV, went home to be with the Lord.

The son of the late Roy & Zelda “Kitty” Jones Elkins, Fred was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a “good ol’ boy”, dependable, loving and kind. Known for his quick wit and humor, his smile was infectious and he was an absolute joy to be around. Fred was a retired truck driver. He loved fishing and hunting, and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Fred was preceded in death by one brother, Lundy Elkins; one brother-in-law, Stephen Bradley; one sister-in-law, Donna Elkins; one nephew, David Elkins and numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Amanda Elkins, Melinda Elkins and Amy Elkins Reed; three grandchildren, Adian Meadows, Abigail Reed and Liam Goff; four brothers, Larry Elkins, David (Dianne) Price Sr, Kenneth (Ann) Price and Jeffrey (Delores) Elkins; faithful companion, Peggy Elkins; special friends, Charlie and Amber Nelson; several aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private graveside service will be held. Close friends & family will serve as pallbearers. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Bower’s Hospice House for their care, kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Oak Grove Methodist Church, Ballengee, WV.
