Freda Ruth ?Bennett? Fox, 62, of Hinton, died at 11:05 A.M. Friday at her home, surrounded by family and friends, following an eleven month courageous battle with lung cancer. Born, April 1, 1942 in Summers Co., she was a daughter of the late Harry and Ida Mae Smith Fox. Freda was a homemaker, a member of the Laurel Creek Baptist Church near Sandstone and had lived most of her life in Summers Co. Preceded in death by one son; Randy Wayne Bennett, April 9, 1997 one daughter; Deborah Kay Bennett, September 12, 1996, six brothers; Edward, Joe, William, Roger, Julius and Homer Fox and three sisters; Gladys Bennett, Madeline Bennett and Alice Carroll. Survived by one daughter, Ruth Flowers and companion Timmy Wheeler of Hilldale, two sons; Ronnie Bennett and wife Decreta and Mike Bennett all of Hinton, two granddaughters, three step grandchildren three step great grandchildren, four sisters, Louella Bennett and husband Joe of Fowlerton, IN, Illa Pierce of Wayne, WV, Pauline Angell and husband Jennings of Hinton and Judy Bennett and husband Arnold of Ocoee, FL, two brothers; Hobert Fox and wife Janice of Hinton and Paul Fox and wife Nancy of Hinton, special friends, Gary and Datsi Farmer, Janie Meadows, Cynthia Bennett and Sarah Fox and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Melvin Wills officiating. Burial will follow in the Breen Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-9 P.M. Sunday. Pallbearers will be; Mark and Mike Fox, Eddie Ray Harrah, Jeff Watts, Kyle Upton, Larry Bennett, Kevin Richmond and Jerry Gwinn.Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of the Laurel Creek Baptist Church.
