Gary H. King, 66, of Sandstone went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Raleigh General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born April 12, 1943 at Broad Run in Mason County, WV he was a son of the late Herbert Rice and Esther Weaver King. Gary was a faithful member of the Lick Creek Baptist Church, disabled Union Laborer, avid outdoorsman and he loved building swings, porch furniture and crafts from all types of wood.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ross King and one sister, Francis Frye.
Survived by his wife Teresa King of Sandstone; one son, Matthew King and wife Michelle of Pineville; one granddaughter, Heather Nicole King; one brother, Jimmy King and wife Phyllis of New Haven, WV; one sister, Peggy Broderick and husband Jim of Pomeroy, OH and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Lick Creek Baptist Church c/o Lucille Williams, P.O. Box 1007 Green Sulphur Springs, WV 25966.
