Gary McBride

Gary Wayne McBride, 54, of Pipestem, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at the University of Virginia Hospital at Charlottesville, following a long illness.Born December 25, 1954 at Pipestem, he was the son of Lacy McBride and wife Diana of Pipestem and Jane Adkins Spade of Hinton.Gary worked several years at the Pipestem State Park, the Old Hinton Hosptial and a short period of time in the coal mines.Preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Browning McBride on April 30, 2008, his paternal grandparents, Kary Mashall and Belle Meadows McBride, and his maternal grandparents, James S. and Bertha May Bowden Adkins. Besides his parents, he is survived by four sons; Gary Jason and Mark Kary McBride and Christopher Lee and Alex Joseph Cline all of Pipestem, one grandson, Zeke Tyler McBride of Pipestem, three brothers; Larry McBride of Pipestem, Damon McBride and wife Kay of Peterstown and Duane McBride of Princeton, six sisters, Barbara Meadows and husband Donnie of Peterstown, Donna Plumley and husband Chris of Upland, Cindy Clough of Worton, MD, Christina Dolan of Glaena, MD, Kandy Spade of Hinton, Lisa Simons of Fairmont, three step brothers; Wayne Blankenship Jr. and wife Denise of South Carolina, Herbert Blankenship of Indiana and James Bowlin and wife Glennaetta of MD and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery on River Ridge. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 1:00 P.M. until funeral time on Friday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
