Genieve "Geneva" Mae Sears Neely, 65, of Nimitz passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
She was born August 24, 1949 in Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Vernon P. and Georgia Sears.
Geneva was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Summers Council on Aging. She lived most of her life in Summers County. Geneva enjoyed yard sales, her beloved dogs, crafts, and reading.
Besides her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by one sister, Alice Bolton; one brother, Phillip Ray Sears; father and mother in law, E.B. and Mary Neely.
She is survived by her husband David Neely at home; daughter, Melissa Neely Harris and David of Beckley; brother in laws, Donnie Neely of Jumping Branch and Richard Bolton; sister in law, Jean Wilcox and husband Duane of Shady Spring; nephew, Christopher Wilcox; niece, Phyllisa Wilcox of Shady Spring; great nephew, Zachary Wilcox of Beaver; three brothers, Lee Sears and wife Betty of Michigan, Paul Sears and wife Brenda of Nimitz, Jack Sears and wife Barbara of Keatley Springs; three sisters, Barbara Ward and husband Gene of Brooks, Helen Sears of Michigan, Frances Sears and companion Joe of New River Road; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2:30 PM at the Lilly-Crews Cemetery in Nimitz with Pastor Bill Fox officiating. There will be no visitation. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.
