Gladys Gill

Gladys Z. Gill, 87 of Bluefield, formerly of Hinton, died May 17, 2009 at Westwood Health Care in Bluefield following a long illness. Born March 20, 1922 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Dayton and Minnie Plumley Massie. A devoted wife and loving mother she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hinton and even though she could not attend services she was always there with her church family in her heart. Employed by the A.W. Cox Dept. Store in Hinton until her retirement in 1991 when she then moved to Bluefield to be close to her daughter and son-in-law. Besides her parents preceded in death by her husband, Basil E. Gill; two sons, Phillip W. and Kert L. Gill; five sisters, Elsie Hoke, Pearl Bragg, Delma Grimmett, Wilsie Grimmett and Wanda Williams and one brother, Opie E. Massie. Survived by two daughters, Janice E. Muncy and husband Hank of Bluefield and Nila L. Angel and husband Carlos of Covington, VA; grandchildren, Deborah Muncy, Lisa and Tom Cole, Patricia and Joe McKenna, John Muncy, Mitchell Angel, Allen Angel, Kert L. Gill Jr., Steven Gill, Ginger Gill, Melody Gill and Amy Harvey; nineteen great grandchildren, one sister, Edna Rennie of Erie, PA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Burial Park at Hinton. Friends may call noon until service time on Wednesday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
