Gladys Gill Iddings, 82, of Richmond, Virginia went to be with the Lord Tuesday January 4, 2011 in Charlottesville, VA following a short illness.
Born January 26, 1928 in Hinton she was a daughter of the late Lewis E. and Minnie Bennett Gill. Mrs. Iddings moved to Richmond, VA in 1946 where she worked at Sears and Roebuck until her retirement after 36 years of service and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Richmond.
Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Archie V. Iddings on July 10, 2003; three brothers, Robert Ray Gill in 1926, Corporal Harles D. Gill who was declared Missing in Action December 2, 1950 in Korea and was recovered 58 years after his death and C.E. ?Ted? Gill who passed away on January 8, 1975.
Mrs. Iddings is survived by her daughter with whom she had made her home the past six months, Darla Iddings Minton and her husband J. Andrew of Charlottesville, VA; one step-daughter, June Williams and husband Joe of Portsmouth, VA and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday January 8, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor Chapel in Hinton, WV with her nephew Pastor Ron Iddings officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope UMC Cemetery at Marie, West Virginia. Friends May call at the funeral parlors from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
