Glen Neely

February 28, 1931 — December 20, 2009

Glen Robert Neely, 78, of Hinton entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 20, 2009 at the VA Medical Center, Beckley following a long illness.

Born February 28, 1931 at Pipestem he was a son of the late D.C. and Nova Mann Neely. Glen was an electrician for 30 years, member of NEBF and IBEW and he served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. A lifetime member of the Princeton Moose Lodge he loved hunting and fishing as long as his health permitted. His real joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his entire family.

Preceded in death by four brothers, D.C., Daniel, Billy Joe and Raymond Neely and two sisters, Edith Whitley and Vonna Brandsetter.

Survived by his wife of 20 years Joyce Dick Neely of Hinton, three daughters, Donna Gaillard of Cocoa Beach, Fl, Carolyn Phillips and husband Danny of Princeton and Beverly Cyrus of Sandstone; one son, Glen Robert Neely Jr.; two sisters, Betty Whiltz and husband Alan of Louisiana and Anna Ruth Settle and husband Jack of Hartford, CT; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Robert Dick, Audie Graham and Danny Stover for their love, kindness and help during Glen?s illness and Felicia Stover for all the love and joy that she brought to Glen?s life.

At Glens request his body was donated to the WV Osteopathic School.

There will be no services.
