Glendon M. Cales 62, of Hilldale, died at 3:30 P.M. Monday, May 15, 2006 at his home, following a short illness. Born April 11, 1944 in Greenbrier Co., he was the son of the late Minor Alzone Cales and the late Ruth McCloud Cales Sears. Glendon lived most of his life at Hilldale, he was a retired Conductor for the CSX Corp, a member of the UTU, the Willow Wood Country Club, Hinton Elks Lodge and the VFW. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a Protestant. Preceded in death by one brother, Jennings M. Cales. Survived by his wife; Shirley Williams Cales; one son, Glen C. Cales and wife Teresa of Dunbar; one daughter, Bethany N. Hedrick and friend Scotty Reed at home; one sister, Florence Cales of Christiansburg, VA; four grandchildren, Trent Joshua Cales, Taylor Cales, Jordan Cales and Donovan Hedrick; one step-granddaughter, Alicia Meador; several cousins, including a very special cousin, Hershey Cales and many close friends. Graveside services and burial were held at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Woodrumtown Cemetery near Hinton with Pastor Sam Haught officiating. There was no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations of sympathy be made to the Kanawha Hospice Care, Inc., 540 N. Jefferson St., Box, 7 Suite D. Lewisburg, WV 24901
