Glendora M. Jones, 92 of Marie went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Summers Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness. Born September 10, 1916 at Bertha she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Elma Mitchell Martin. A member of Spruce Run Chapel where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and as past church treasurer. A lifelong resident of Summers County where she sold Stanley Home Products for over 50 years and served on the Democratic Executive Committee for several years. Preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Jones; three brothers, Emmett, Howard and infant Claude Martin and one sister, Gladys Meadows. Survived by four daughters, Maxine McLoughlin and husband Tom of Columbus, OH, Glenna Cook and husband John of Marie, Mildred Richmond and husband Jim of Ballengee and Nina Roach and husband Eddie of Forest Hill; one son, Marvin Jones and wife Sue of Wayside; one brother, Rev. Ernest â??Jimâ?? Martin and wife Margaret of Talcott; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Rev. Ben Peyton and Rev. Bill Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery at Forest Hill. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Friday at the funeral parlors. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
