Goldie Mae Terry Bennett, 68, of Zion Mt. went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 01, 2011 at Summers Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born January 15, 1943 at Summers Co. she was the daughter of the late Everette H. and Edna F. Bonds Terry. A homemaker who was of the Baptist Faith she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Bennett truly enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Preceded in death by her husband Raymond F. Bennett; one son, Raymond Michael Bennett and one granddaughter, Karen Sue Bennett.
Survived by four children, William F. ?Bill? Bennett and wife Lorna Sue of Jumping Branch, Ruth Gill of Zion Mt., Gary Bennett and wife Kathy of Hinton and Anna Bennett of Hinton; nephew, Sammy Dale Terry and wife Jane of Hinton; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, one brother, Eugene Terry of Hinton; one sister, Wilma J. Terry of Hinton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Rev. Robert Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
