Gordie Amsdill, 66, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Bower's Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born July 10, 1952 at Lyndonville, NY he was a son of Cecelia Gozdowiak Amsdill of Lyndonville, NY and the late Gordon Amsdill.
Gordie was a Christian and a member of The Church of Living God. He was founder and owner of Advanced Water Treatment. Gordie was a master water specialist. Gordie was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved the Lord, his family, doing water treatment, NASCAR, traveling and having fun.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Valerie Underwood Amsdill at home; two daughters, Hope Amsdill of Hinton and Jaime Amsdill of Lyndonville, NY; four grandchildren, Alex, Jacob, Elysa and Abi; six great grandchildren, Iziah, Elias, Jane, Mila, "G" and Chanse; three sisters, Ann Nice and husband Ken, Joanie Prahler and Cathy Beiersdorf and husband Tim; one brother, Chris Amsdill. Gordie also love Jeriamiah McAlpine and considered him the son he never had.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ron Iddings officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons-Underwood Cemetery at Mt. View. Friends may call from noon until time of service on Saturday at the funeral parlors. Pallbearers will be Jerimiah McAlpine, Blu McAlpine, Allen Rexroad, Justin and Lee Davis and Daniel Butler.
After the burial, friends and family are invited to a lovingly prepared meal at Lifeline Church in Hinton.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
