Harold Elmer Reed, 78, of Hinton, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley, following a long illness. Born October 5, 1929 in Summers Co., he was the son of the late Lonza L and Nina S. Deeds Reed. Harold served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1959 during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Meat Cutter for most of his life including owning a business in Hinton for six years, and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church at Nimitz. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Preceded in death by; two sisters, Lucille Reed and Margie Hamm and two brothers; Allen Reed and Ronald Reed. Survived by; his wife of 38 years, Juanita Brown Reed; four daughters, Debbie Larsen and husband Eric of Loveland, CO, Brenda Bell of Columbus, GA, Tammy Reed of Phoenix, AZ and Heather Reed of Franklinton, NC; one son, Will Reed and wife Lynn of Nimitz; one sister, Frances Meadows of North Kingstown, RI; one brother, Jim Reed of Hinton; nine grandchildren, Aleesha Bell Valentine and husband Todd of Canton, MI, Nicholas Bell of Columbus, GA, Jacob and Dylan Radford of Phoenix, AZ, Justin and Jeremy Reed of Nimitz, David Brandi and Joshua Frederickson of Franklinton, NC; one great granddaughter Savannah Valentine of Canton MI and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor William R. Ballengee officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Family Cemetery on Madamâ??s Creek. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-8 P.M. on Monday. Men of the Grace Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Grace Baptist Church, P.O.Box 102, Nimitz, WV 25978 â?? He is not dead, he is just resting in the bosom of Jesus.â??
