Helen Kathleen Meadows, 90, of Talcott, formerly of Clarksburg went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the home of James and Carolyn Huffman, following a short illness.
Born May 3, 1921 at Clarksburg, she was a daughter of the late Boyd C. and Lotta Gaye Wood Salisbury.
Helen worked various jobs until she retired from B.F. Goodrich. She attended Rollynsburg Baptist Church, loved to sew, cook, listen to country music and spend her time with her grandchildren. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
Preceded in death by her husband, Barger Basil Meadows, in February 1977, two step children, Agnes "Anganetta" Kincaid and Buford M. Meadows; two brothers, Frederick Salisbury and Robert Salisbury; two sisters, Edith Mills and Murrell Miller; two half brothers, Hilbert Salisbury and Willie Prader; two granddaughters, Audra H. Meadows and Wanda Jean Meadows; one grandson, Thomas Koontz.
Survived by nine children, Chester "Bucky" Meadows and companion Geraldine Grubb of Barger Springs, Barbara K. Koontz and companion Jim Gill of Hilldale, Carolyn Huffman and husband James of Forest Hill, Anna Dillon and husband Dave of War Ridge, Wilma Fox and husband Dave of Williamsburg, Patricia Daugherty and husband Daniel of Lester, Shirley Winfrey and husband Rick of Williamsburg, Barger Meadows Jr. of Talcott and Beecher Meadows and wife Beth of Talcott; twenty one grandchildren; thirty two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and two more on the way; two half sisters, Reba Carpenter of Cowen and Rose Lee Smith and husband Frank of Cowen and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Dana Stalnaker and Joe Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery at Forest Hill. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6:00PM- 8:00PM on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the funeral parlors.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
