Helen Simmons

Helen K. Upton Lucas Simmons, born May 19, 1925 in Summers Co., went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at her home, following a long illness. Preceded in death by two husbands, Frank Lucas and Robert Simmons; a son, John Robert Simmons; two brothers, Bobby and Tommy Upton; two sisters, Virginia Vernatt and Ruby Whittaker; and loving father, John Upton and mother Mamie Upton. She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Jean Bradley and Linda Blankenbeckler and her husband Kirt; a son Frank Lucas and wife Okhee; four grandchildren, Willy Lester and wife Tiffany, Donna Nidiffer and Tomas and Amanda Blankenbeckler; two great grandchildren, Brooke Lester and Syreeta Lewis; a special nephew, Mike Vernatt; and other nieces and nephews. Gone to heaven but never forgotten. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Rev. Walter Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in the Upton Cemetery at Jumping Branch. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-9 P.M. Saturday. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
