Helen Young

Helen L. Young Cole, 91, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 20, 2013 following a long illness.

Born July 31, 1921 at Raleigh County she was a daughter of the late Paul D. Epperly Sr. and Lottie Epperly Ford.

Helen was a member of the Bluestone Baptist Church of Jumping Branch. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed crocheting, gardening, tending to her many flowers and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth L. Young; second husband, Wilmer Thurl Cole; two brothers, Paul D. Epperly Jr. and Shirley Epperly and one sister, Garnet Glover. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Dixie L. Fox and husband Bill and Drema C. Turner and husband Harry; five grandchildren, Kim Ballard and husband Steve, Lynn Hutchinson, Joy Bowling and husband Johnny, Mark Fox and wife Melissa and Pamela Bender and husband Matt; twelve great grandchildren, Matthew Ballard, Luke Hutchinson, Zachary and Zoey Bowling, Savannah, Kendall and Brett Bender, Logan, Claire and Kenneth Nathan Fox, Kelsie and Jacob Lively. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Bluestone Baptist Church with Pastor Roy Lee Honaker Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral parlors.

Pallbearers will be Steve Ballard, Johnny Bowling, Mark Fox, Matt Bender, Jimmy Harper and Darrell Lilly.
