Henry Ballard

Henry Wilson Ballard Jr., 96, of Beckley, formerly of 200 Maple St., Hinton, died Monday morning, March 31, 2008 in a Beckley care home, following a long illness. Born April 4, 1911 at Hinton, WV, he was the son of the late Henry Wilson and Sarah Lilly Ballard Sr. Mr. Ballard had worked a plasterer during the early part of his life. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dorse Ballard and a sister, Annie Ballard. Survived by two nephews; Donald Ballard and wife Doris of Daniels and Douglas Ballard and wife Linda of Beckley, two nieces; Jo Ann Baber and husband Bob of Hinton and Norma Tincher and husband Tom of Culloden and several great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Elmo Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Lilly Cemetery on Leatherwood Road. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 11:00 A.M. until funeral time on Thursday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
