Herbert Franklin Miller Sr., 90, of Meadow Creek went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his home peacefully in his sleep.
Born March 21, 1923 at Lockbridge he was a son of the late Daniel Franklin and Annie Margaret Bowles Miller.
Herbert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather who enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting and the outdoors. He was a lifelong resident of Summers County and a WWII Army Veteran. Herbert was of the Protestant faith.
Preceded in death by wife, Kathleen Berry Miller; one granddaughter, Amy Allison Miller; one grandson, Daniel Dee Miller; one brother, William Lonzo Miller and one sister, Lola Mae Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory include five children, Herbert Franklin Miller Jr. and wife Dena of Forest Hill, Ronald Miller of North Carolina, Beverly Bowles and husband Kermit of Lockbridge, Timothy Miller and wife Vicki of Princeton and Clifton Miller and wife Janet of Jumping Branch; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren and one brother, Lester Allen Miller and wife Kitty Lou of Lockbridge.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with David Chrisman officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton. Friends may call from noon until time of services.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
