Hilda Mae Nelson, 90, formerly of Ballengee, died Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Princeton Community Hospital, following a long illness. Born August 27, 1915 at Wayside, she was the daughter of the late Charles Richard and Elsa Faye Surber Sims. Mrs. Nelson had lived most of her life in Summers Co. She had been a resident of the Glenwood Retirement Home in Mercer Co. for the past several years.She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Beckley. Preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Nelson, one son, Kyle Nelson and three brothers, Freddy, Ted and Bill Sims. Survived by one sister, Mildred Ziemba and husband John of Tacoma, WA, one daughter-in-law, Drema Radford of Princeton, two sisters-in-law, Lillian Sims of True and Marco Sims of Rogers, Arkansas, three nieces, two nephews, two great nieces and one great nephew. Graveside services and burial will be held at 4:30 P.M. Monday at the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballengee with Pastor Pat Mick officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
