Howard Robert "Bob" Babineau, 71, of Shady Spring went home to be with the Lord Friday January 26, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House following a short illness.
Born March 24, 1946 at Hinton he was the son of the late Robert Neville Babineau and Vera Yancey Babineau Johnson. A 1963 graduate of Hinton High School, served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy upon his return home Bob graduated from Alderson Broaddus College, he retired from the Federal Correction Institute in Beckley where he worked in Administration and Training, also worked for the United States Marshall Service and for FEMA in the setup of the Communications Command Center, member of First Baptist Church of Hinton and he also attended Martha's Chapel United Methodist Church as a young man, loved the outdoors where he camped, fished and hunted very avidly.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda Gale Tarriero Babineau of Shady Spring, two daughters, Robin Marie Babineau and partner Ben of Fairmont and Julie Michelle Babineau and husband Robbie of Fairmont; three brothers, Thom Johnson and companion June of Pence Springs, David Johnson and wife Teresa of Bozoo and Rick Johnson and wife Terri of Lowell, one stepson, David "MacGyver" Welch and wife Crystal and four step grandchildren.
Funeral services wi11 be held 1:00 pm Monday January 29, 2018 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Richard Harless and Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Sunday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
