Hugh F. Toothman, 92, of Hilldale went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Peyton Hospice House following a short illness.
Born December 3, 1924 at Marion Co., he was a son of the late Arastus Theodore and Della Ann Grubb Toothman.
Hugh was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran having served during D-Day, a pump operator for Pennzoil Oil Co., a former road crew foreman for San Bernardino Co. Dept. of Transportation, a member of the San Bernardino Co. Mounted Deputies, auto mechanic, farmer and former truck driver for Burns Trucking. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and exploring his interests in history while visiting many historical sites. Hugh was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Preceding him in death include his son, Jerry Toothman; two infant brothers; three sisters, Ivy, Mavis and Mildred; five brothers, Harold, Melvin, Carris, Raymond, and Okey Blake.
Those left to cherish his memory include a dear friend, Alice Lane; one daughter, Kathy Morsett of Douglas, WY; Grandchildren, Adam and Ray Toothman of Nampa ID, Joseff, Matthew and Garrett Hutchison all of Casper, WY; Great Grandchildren, Amber, Zach, Steven, Kassie, Kevin and William.; special niece, Belva Sue Hollar; special nephews, Okey Eugene Toothman and wife Carol Ann and Bernard Wayne Toothman and Wife Peggy. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday. At Hugh's request there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy are asked to be made to the Peyton Hospice House at 1265 Maplewood Ave. Lewisburg, WV 24901.
