Isaac ?Ike? Madison Lambert, 71, of Hinton died Friday, February 11, 2011 at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness.
Born August 14, 1939 at Pineville he was the son of the late John Kee and Nellie Glea Bailey Lambert. Ike was a graduate of Hinton High School with the class of 1957, and a veteran of the United States Army where he worked in the Pentagon on the IG Inspection Team. He retired from Schlumberger as an administrator after many years of service and was a technician class amateur radio operator with his call sign of N8JPZ as well as a member of the Bluestone Amateur Radio Club. He enjoyed hiking, sightseeing, fishing, outdoors, photography, computers and maintaining all of his friendships. Ike was the last surviving member of his family.
Preceded in death by one sister, Jane Lambert Heinemann.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 31 years, Mary Farley Shrader Lambert of Hinton; one stepson, Stephen Ray Shrader and wife Megumi of Japan; one step granddaughter, Eri Shrader of Japan; one niece, Carrie Heinemann Lindenmuth of Westminster, MD; one nephew, Jay Heinemann of Westminster, MD; one uncle, Arthur ?Buster? Lambert of Beckley and numerous cousins whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
