Imogene

Imogene Cox, 74, of Ghent, went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2006 following a long illness. Born January 30, 1932 in Summers Co., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lena Oakley Lilly Basham. She was a member of the Bluestone Primitive Baptist Church at Ellison. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Basham; and a brother, Andrew Basham. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Luther T. Cox; one daughter, Lena Sue Pauley and husband Charles of Saltville, VA; one son, Thomas David Cox and wife Trina of Shady Spring; Six grandchildren, Thomas Dickerson and wife Terressa of Saltville, VA, Pamela Steiding and husband Stephen of Ghent, Richard Dickerson and wife Angie of Saltville, Thomas Cox Jr. of Daniels, Melissa Lusk and husband Roger of Shady Spring and Jonathon Cox of Daniels; eleven great- grandchildren, Nikki, Andy, Jeffery, Zachary, Nathaniel, Thomas Jr., Christopher, Gregory, Robert, Elexis and Makayla; two brothers, Cecil Basham and wife Amalee of Harlan, IN and James Basham and wife Irene of Richmond, VA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel at Hinton with Elder Bobby Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Lilly Cemetery at Ghent. Friends may call from noon until service time on Friday. Pallbearers: Charles Pauley, Robert Cox, Kenneth Cox, Thomas Dickerson, Richard Dickerson, Thomas Cox, Roger Lusk and Jeffrey Meadows.
