Mrs. Ina Coffman of Hinton left this earth peacefully January 3, 2014 at 8:45 P.M. in the Summer's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hilldale, WV.
Ina, the daughter of Alpha Alonzo Martin and Grace Dona Cox Martin, was born September 18, 1913. The Martin's had 10 children, Ethel Irene Cooper (deceased), James Edward Martin (deceased), Bertha Frances Goddard (deceased), Robert Alonzo Martin (deceased), Russell William Martin (deceased), Johnnie Henry Martin (deceased), Nannie Marie Sifers, Harry Wade Martin (deceased) and Alice Lee Woods.
Ina married Thomas Carl Coffman April 4, 1934; they have one son, Thomas Dean who married Dalene Alderman. "Granny" has two grandchildren, Joel (wife Sara), Joanna (husband Chris), and four great grandchildren, Chloe and Nate Coffman, Kaitlyn Grace and Isaac Rogar. She has 28 nieces and nephews.
Ina was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hinton and was active within Sunday School Class and Ladies Mission Circle. She was a nurse's aide with Hinton Hospital as well as Summers County Hospital. After retiring, she continued to do private sitting for families. Her hobbies were quilting on the wooden frames her husband, Carl had made, crocheting, baking and sharing recipes as well as the finished products.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Reverend Warren Gilpin officiating. Burial will follow at the Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Adkins, Greg Vandall, David Quisenberry, Franklin Bowles, Jeff Chambers, Joel Coffman and Chris Rogar.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
