India T. Rudisill, 99, of Barger Springs went home to be with the Lord, Monday, October 5, 2015 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Born June 22, 1916 at Barger Springs, she was the daughter of the late Whitley Harmon and Lillie Viola Parker Tabor.
India was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She was a former school teacher and principal for the Summers County Board of Education with 45 years of service, touching the hearts of children in many locations. She was the secretary for Tri River Trucking Inc. at Barger Springs. India cherished her grandchildren and loved her many friends. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and attending parades and Train Days.
She was a lifelong resident of Summers County and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Rudisill; brother, Whitley Harmon Tabor Jr.; sisters, Mary Ann Gwinn, Bessie Viola Rudisill, and Orpha Genivee Tabor Wood.
Those left to cherish her memory include sons, James Duane Rudisill and David Lee Rudisill and wife Carol, both of Barger Springs; two granddaughters, Jennifer Leigh Blake and husband Andy of Rocky Point, NC and Kelli Jane Miller and husband Dillon of Panama City Beach, FL and four great grandchildren, Lillian and Abbigail Blake and Avrie and Acelin Miller.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dana Stalnaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Barger Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral parlors.
Chester Rudisill, Greg Wood, Randy Rhodes, Warren Tabor, Tommy Webb and Sonny Garcia will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
