Ira Wyant

Ira G. Wyant, 96, of Temple Terrace, FL, formerly of Raceland, KY and Summers Co., died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Brandon Regional Hospital at Tampa, FL, following a long illness. Born April 18, 1910 in Summers Co., he was the son of the late Walter Grant and Cora Elizabeth Allen Wyant. Mr. Wyant was a retired Fireman for the C&O Railroad, a member of the Raceland Baptist Church at Raceland, KY. Preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Idress Wills Wyant, one grandson, Anthony Wayne Wyant; and four brothers, Everette, Ray, Paul and Howard Wyant. Survived by three sons; Eugene Wyant and wife Leola of Lima, OH, Ronald Wyant and wife Rosemary of Wallbridge, OH and Kenneth Wyant and wife Karen of Lynchburg, VA; two daughters, Fonda Richerson and husband Bill of Anaheim, CA and Loretta Simmons and husband Bruce of Tampa, FL; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Dana Stalnaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-8 P.M. Sunday. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
