Ivaliene ?Ivy? Dean 82, of Hinton, formerly of Brooks, died at 10:55 P.M. Saturday at the Summers Nursing and Rehab Center at Hilldale, following a long illness.
Born March 25, 1927 at Brooks, she was the daughter of the late Waymon and Bertie Adkins Berry.
Ivy was a homemaker and loved her flowers and friends. She attended the Sandstone Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Billie A. Dean on June 6, 2000; two brothers; Kester and Beecher Berry and four sisters; Arlie McGinnis, Audra Sims, Mamie Richmond and Arbory Frye
Survived by one brother, Okie Melvin Berry of Marie, WV, six sisters; Carmen Berry of Hinton, Laniel Bell Bennett of Beckley, Martha Bennett of Hinton, Connie Lane of Hinton, Corene Sears of Waynesboro, VA and Priscilla Wheeler of Beckley; a special sister-in-law, Kathleen ?Kitty? Logan of Beckley and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be 1 P.M. Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Butch Honaker officiating. There will be no visitation.
